Details From Our Lake Lanier Home Showings Yesterday! Plus Photos From Our Lake Travels!

The Fall weather is easing in on us here at Lake Lanier.  Yesterday was a fantastic day to be out on the lake showing homes.  Our travels started in Dawsonville and headed north to Murrayville and Gainesville.  I don't think the temperature touched 90 degrees while we were out, and the lake was simply gorgeous.  It is a beautiful time of year on Lake Lanier, and I must say that September and October always bring comfortable weather and glorious colors here in the North Georgia Mountains.

Nothing but photos from our beautiful boat ride Thursday on Lake Lanier.  Another easy day on the lake with very little boat traffic and beautiful weather.  We are approaching Autumn on Lake Lanier!  The days are a bit cooler and the breezes are cooling off the late day heat.  Are you ready for a stellar weekend on Lanier?!  Saturday and Sunday are forecasted to be gorgeous.  Get out and enjoy the lake!  It's waiting and calling!  Here are a few photos from our lunch outing on Thursday!

Weekday Boating Photos From Lake Lanier! Calm Lake Waters And Beautiful Blue Skies!

We frequently hear stories about boat traffic on Lake Lanier.  It is often said that the south end of the lake is extremely busy especially on the weekends.  On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, you'll find everything from jet skis to house boats kicking up wakes down south of Browns Bridge.  Well, that may be true on the weekends and holidays, but what about during the middle of the week?  What about on a Wednesday after Labor Day?

Today was a special day for boating on Lake Lanier!  Sunny, warm weather and very calm waters.  We saw very few watercraft of any type today.  This was especially true north of Bolling Bridge.  We left our dock at about 12:30 today for a little lunch down south at Dockside Grill at Aqualand Marina.  I might have seen three boats between my run from Johnson Creek all the way to Bolling Bridge!  It didn't change much all the way through the Chestatee Bay to Browns Bridge.

There were a few more boats once we were south of Browns Bridge, but I gotta' tell you, it was like having the lake to ourselves.  What a gorgeous day with smooth water, sunny skies, and warm temperatures.

We showed up at Aqualand,  and we were one of only two or three boats at the visitor dock.  The restaurant was fast and efficient with only about three to four tables taken.  Our food order was cooked quickly and delivered piping hot!  And our dog was the only canine present!

I really cherish weekdays at Lake Lanier, especially in the Fall when temperatures start to cool and leaves change color.  Now is the time to be on the boat.  And today was a premiere example of boating during the week at Lanier.  Take a look at some of our photos from today.  Smooth waters and calm skies.  Welcome to Lake Lanier weekdays!

In Search Of Fresh Produce And Farm Fresh Foods Near Lake Lanier? We Visit Jaemor Farm Market!

As you probably know by now, a great portion of this blog has to do with fun activities, food and dining on and around Lake Lanier. Today, we woke to a cloudy Labor Day morning. It just wasn't sunny enough to hit the water, and the radar showed storms and showers surrounding the lake area. Rather than waiting it out indoors, my wife and I headed out in search of food!

Just north of Lake Lanier, past the end of I-985 where the road turns blacktop again, you'll find all of the fresh, farm veggies, jams, jellies, cheese, breads, ciders and more than you can imagine. You'll find Jaemor Farm in Alto, Georgia! A 100+ year old farm and their accompanying market. Wow! What's not to like at this place! From farm fresh produce to fresh peach ice cream. All straight from the Jaemor Farm. This place was packed!

We spent a comparatively small amount in relation to other shoppers who loaded their cars and trucks with produce galore. For us, it was three types of jarred salsas from the farm, veggie soup base, fresh corn, tomatoes, peaches, chow chow, and a few other goodies! All just a short drive from our lake home. Really, just about 30 minutes from Gainesville near Sardis Road. Not bad for finding the Mecca of fresh produce! We really enjoyed this place and will surely be back soon. The Lake Lanier Cottage At 793 Lula Garrett Road In Dawsonville Has Sold!
