Wow! What an incredibly beautiful evening experience and sunset prior to the fireworks display last night.  The rain held off, the sunset was incredible, the arrival of boats to the flotilla!  It was an absolutely, stunning and relaxing Fourth Of July 2017 experience!  Athens Boat Club should be commended for putting on such a spectacular show.  Many thanks to Athens Boat Club, the Evans family, and the boaters of our beloved Chestatee River Basin at Lake Lanier for making it memorable!  It was a beautiful experience for everyone! Saturday's Lake Lanier Boat Tour Of Lathem Bay, Taylor Creek & Thompson Creek! A Beautiful Day On The Water!

Honestly, these beautiful September and October days at Lake Lanier don't get much better than yesterday and today.  With plenty of sunshine, beautiful water color, cool breezes and mild temps, this time of year on Lake Lanier is absolutely stunning!  Additionally, it's a time when a lot of visitors stop coming to the lake and things get a lot more quiet and less crowded.  Without a doubt, the character of Lake Lanier changes after Labor Day, but for those that are able to make use of the water as the weather cools, there is no better time to enjoy the serenity of this beautiful lake.

Yesterday, we took off at about 2 P.M.  I mounted the GoPro to the windshield of the old boat and shot random photos all along our boat ride.  We cruised around Lathem Bay, Taylor Creek, Thompson Creek and the Chestatee River.  The pics from yesterday can be viewed in the short YouTube video below!

We are so enamored by our latest Lake Lanier real estate listing at 344 Tom McGinnis Road in Dawsonville, that we can't quit visiting the place!  Yesterday, we made a short boat trip over to the shoreline of the property which is located in a nice, wide, deep water cove just off Thompson Creek.



Like the setting of the home, the setting of the single-slip dock with party deck is secluded and just as scenic as can be.  The water color is beautiful and the there is a rural feel to the area that makes it feel like an oasis that time forgot.

It's a beautiful morning here on Thompson Creek in Dawsonville!! I just came up for a brief HVAC inspection, walked out to the dock and took some of these beautiful photos. Not quite as chilly this morning but the wind is picking up!

Ride Along With Us In The Boat As We Video Tour Thompson Creek On Lake Lanier In Dawsonville, Georgia!

Last week we went for a short boat ride up Thompson Creek to the Thompson Creek Park and boat ramp on Lake Lanier.  Located in Dawsonville at the end of Thompson Creek Park Road, this is one of our favorite boat trips on Lake Lanier.  Thompson Creek is a beautiful area of the lake, very scenic, with gorgeous waterfront homes, and a fantastic park and boat ramp access point to Lake Lanier.




As you can see, we are gradually improving our video skills, the video below has some glare and shake but will still provide you with a scenic look at the area.  We are working hard to shoot these videos and photos with our everyday smart phone, the Samsung Note 2.  As we test different mount and stabilization methods for videoing while boating, the process is gradually getting a bit better.

Here are a few quick photos from our Memorial Day Monday at Lake Lanier. Its been a comfortable and enjoyable weekend, with only a few scattered showers but otherwise sunny skies. We took a late morning cruise over to Thompson Creek and made a visit to Athens Boat Club to gas up the boat.

Athens Boat Club has added a very nice new pavillion to house their snack shop and restrooms as well as a picnic area.  It is quite an impressive structure for the old Athens Boat Club!  You can see it in the distance in the first photo.  The following pics are from the area of Thompson Creek this morning around 11 o'clock. Of course the last photo is of our beloved old SeaRay in the slip at our dock on Johnson Creek.

What an absolutely gorgeous day to be on the water at Lake Lanier!  We made a short boat ride over to War Hill Park on Lake Lanier along Thompson Creek in Dawsonville.  With the Summer winding down and kids heading back to school this week, boat traffic was fairly tame.  It was great to see campers at War Hill Park enjoying the weather this weekend.  Sunny with low humidity!  What's not to like?!  Just a gorgeous Sunday at Lake Lanier with temps feeling like a breezy Fall day.  Here are a few of our photos from today!

Lake Lanier Home Sales! We Close Another One In Dawsonville On Thompson Creek At Lake Lanier!

Whew!  It's been a VERY busy July.  We have been actively showing properties, doing inspections, and writing contracts every day lately.  2013 is shaping up to be an excellent year for Lake Lanier real estate!

Last Friday, we had another very smooth closing and one that occurred weeks ahead of schedule.  I have to give thanks for a job well done on the mortgage financing which was done with Terry Palmer of Homestar Financial Corporation.  Terry got all aspects of the loan process completed quickly and was responsive to everyone's needs.  He really stayed on top of the entire process, rushed the system, and got everything done way ahead of schedule.

Changing Colors And Temps Here At Lake Lanier!

Well, we had another great weekend out here on Lake Lanier.!  The weather is cooling off and Autumn is approaching quickly. The leaves are changing now, so it really makes it beautiful outside! This makes for perfect times to grill out and enjoy the outdoors. And we did that three days in a row! With temperatures in the mid seventies to low eighties during the day and falling into the low sixties and high fifties at night, dining outside is quite enjoyable.  Even though it was a bit overcast and cloudy most of the weekend, we were able to take the boat out for an enjoyable ride up to Thomson Creek in Dawsonville. Here's a look at our boat dock on Johnson creek.

And while I tried to get a shot of the fall leaves on our path to the lake, this photo turned out a little bit dark. But cool weather is heading in after two days of rain.  Peak color season for Autumn on lake Lanier is still a few weeks away.

I don't think there is anything more beautiful than Autumn on Lake Lanier! Stay tuned for more photos as we expect to be out on the lake more often in the upcoming weeks!
