It Was Another Fantastic Evening At The Athens Boat Club July 4th 2018 Fireworks Display On Lake Lanier!
What a beautiful and enjoyable event last night on Thompson Creek as boaters and lake dwellers on Lake Lanier gathered for the annual Fourth of July fireworks display at Athens Boat Club. The weather was warm and a bit humid, but the water temp was just right for floating and relaxing! This display just keeps getting better each year. We arrived at about 9 p.m. and the show started at about 9:30 p.m. The fireworks lit up the sky until about 10 p.m. As usual, the flotilla hangs out after the show and the final departure was easy and civilized!
Many thanks to Athens Boat Club in Dawsonville for putting on such a wonderful event! It really is a fabulous way to enjoy the Fourth!

Wow! What an incredibly beautiful evening experience and sunset prior to the fireworks display last night. The rain held off, the sunset was incredible, the arrival of boats to the flotilla! It was an absolutely, stunning and relaxing Fourth Of July 2017 experience! Athens Boat Club should be commended for putting on such a spectacular show. Many thanks to Athens Boat Club, the Evans family, and the boaters of our beloved Chestatee River Basin at Lake Lanier for making it memorable! It was a beautiful experience for everyone! We Say Goodbye To This Wonderful Lake Lanier Cottage At 1092 Chestatee Point In Dawsonville!
Yesterday, we said goodbye to this wonderful Lake Lanier cottage located on the shores of the Chestatee River at 1092 Chestatee Point in Dawsonville.
This quaint cottage was a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home located just off Harmony Church Road in Dawsonville. Custom built by its original owners, the home featured deep, open waters on the Chestatee River. It had a versatile, open floor plan, with two complete living spaces, and even included two gorgeous kitchens with breakfast bars. It also had an enormous upstairs loft, a flexible living area, a cozy Tennessee River Rock fireplace, hardwood floors, exposed beams, and a rustic charm that was simply captivating! Outside, there was a relaxing 16 by 14 screened porch with scenic Lake Lanier views of the Chestatee River. The property was located on a level lot with easy access to the single-slip, grandfathered boathouse. This home had a lot of lake and mountain character. It was simply a fantastic buy! Applying For A Shoreline Use Permit / License At Lake Sidney Lanier? Here Is A Guide To Dock Permits & Applications!
If you are in the process of purchasing a Lake Lanier waterfront home with a dock, you have probably realized by now that you will need to contact the U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers in order to get information on the dock permit and process for having the permit placed in your name. In order to facilitate the process, please note the following contact information for the Corps at Lake Sidney Lanier.

A Few Photos Of Athens Boat Club On Lake Lanier...The New Pavilion Is Looking Great!
Last week, we headed to Athens Boat Club on Lake Lanier to top off the SeaRay with a bit of fuel. As we approached the gas dock by water, a new structure appeared. It was the beautiful new pavilion! WOW! What a spacious facility with a large, covered outdoor meeting and dining area, restrooms, and covered vending machines. The new building overlooks the lake and is a very nicely built structure. Congratulations to the residents of this community for the planning and development of this project. It is very nice! Checkout the photos of Athens Boat Club's new pavilion!
