Lake Lanier Real Estate Today!

Today, a number of things crossed my desk, sparking an interest in writing a few words about each.  The first of these items has to do with Gillsville.  That's right, Gillsville!  Not Gainesville, but Gillsville.  This is a small community close to I-985 and just east of the more famous Gainesville.

So, what's in Gillsville?  Well, from what I can tell, some very value priced real estate!  Take a look at some of these Gillsville homes and their prices!

4627 Turning Leaf Drive
4765 Turning Leaf Drive
4353 Pond Fork Way

These are just a few of the value priced homes for sale in Gillsville.  There are plenty of others.  And while Gillsville isn't on Lake Lanier, it's pretty darn close.

Moving on to item two, Appen news is reporting that a new medical center is in the works across the street from Northside Hospital Forsyth!  That's great news for commercial real estate in Cumming, and great news for the residents of Cumming.  I'm a big fan of Northside Forsyth Hospital, and the idea of a continuation of this growth and support is great news.  Here's the link to the full news story!

And finally, the third item on our list is in regard to everyone's interest in 4th of July fireworks and festivities.  I have not been able to confirm a show at Athens Boat Club or Marina Bay.  However, here are a couple of sure bets for finding upcoming festivities and fireworks dispalys!

Lake Lanier Courtyards, Concerts & Docks

Our dock has found its way home!  Thanks to Marine Specialties, our dock has returned to its home position.  We had moved it a little further out the cove last Fall when the Lake Lanier water level dropped a bit.  However, with the lake seeming to hold its 1064 mark, we decided to bring the dock back in for the summer.  This sure makes for a more convenient access for boat rides and fishing!

A couple of photos from our blooming courtyard at Lake Lanier!  Summer brings out the Cone Flowers and Lillies!

Lake Lanier Islands continues to bring the fun to the lake with the following new concert series:

Friday Night Travels Around Lake Lanier

Wow!  What a Friday night we had last night.  I can tell you this post will be short on real estate and more on things to do around Lake Lanier.  Last night started early around 6:30.  Since we lost an anchor for our boat the previous weekend, we decided to head over to the store that has it all when it comes to boating, West Marine!  Located in Buford on Lake Lanier Islands Parkway, this place has it all!

We were quick to get what we wanted and make a fast getaway to dinner.  But where?  Well, how about Lake Lanier Islands?  It's been a while since I've been to the Islands by car, but with so many new venues we headed on over.  What an improvement from the days of old!  And what a picturesque setting!  You could spend a day on the ground at Lake Lanier Islands and fill up an incredible photo album!  Seriously, there are incredible vistas at every turn.  I really enjoyed seeing the new restaurants, grounds and Legacy Lodge.  We took photos with the Android, but some of these pics would have been better with a true, full scale camera.  But, here's what we were able to quickly snap at Legacy Lodge.  Very nicely renovated and inviting!

And a few more pics of the beautiful grounds of the Islands!

The beauty is everywhere at Lake Lanier Islands!  But we know other spots for dining in Buford that are good too.  If you're in the mood for great food in an old town square atmosphere, check out the square in downtown Buford.  Aqua Terra Bistro is one of the best restaurants in the area!  Great wine, fantastic food, in a romantic, historical area.  It's hard to go wrong at Aqua Terra, and it always makes for an elegant evening.  Here are a few of the photos from downtown Buford!

Harris Blackwood of the Gainesville Times recently published an interesting update on the status, plans and time table of changes going on at Lake Lanier Islands. There are a lot of renovations and changes underway. You can read all of the latest news from Mr. Blackwood's article by clicking on the link above!
