Weekday Boating Photos From Lake Lanier! Calm Lake Waters And Beautiful Blue Skies!

We frequently hear stories about boat traffic on Lake Lanier. It is often said that the south end of the lake is extremely busy especially on the weekends. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, you'll find everything from jet skis to house boats kicking up wakes down south of Browns Bridge. Well, that may be true on the weekends and holidays, but what about during the middle of the week? What about on a Wednesday after Labor Day?

Today was a special day for boating on Lake Lanier! Sunny, warm weather and very calm waters. We saw very few watercraft of any type today. This was especially true north of Bolling Bridge. We left our dock at about 12:30 today for a little lunch down south at Dockside Grill at Aqualand Marina. I might have seen three boats between my run from Johnson Creek all the way to Bolling Bridge! It didn't change much all the way through the Chestatee Bay to Browns Bridge.

There were a few more boats once we were south of Browns Bridge, but I gotta' tell you, it was like having the lake to ourselves. What a gorgeous day with smooth water, sunny skies, and warm temperatures.

We showed up at Aqualand, and we were one of only two or three boats at the visitor dock. The restaurant was fast and efficient with only about three to four tables taken. Our food order was cooked quickly and delivered piping hot! And our dog was the only canine present!

I really cherish weekdays at Lake Lanier, especially in the Fall when temperatures start to cool and leaves change color. Now is the time to be on the boat. A Great Weekend On Lake Lanier! Showing Lake Lanier Homes And Dining Lakeside!

We had a great weekend here at Lake Lanier! While rain was expected most of the weekend, the sun prevailed except for a few times in the late afternoon. The weather was not too hot, and it was more than acceptable for showing Lake Lanier homes on Saturday morning. We focused on a few lakefront properties in the $250K-$350K price range. All of the homes had nice settings and a lot to offer. Here's a look at the Lake Lanier homes that we toured:

The good times continued Sunday! We headed out on Sunday late morning and headed to one of our favorite lunch spots. With schools starting back, we thought that the lake would be a bit quiet and the restaurants would be quick and easy. As it turned out, the gorgeous weather brought the lake traffic and there were plenty of boaters out enjoying the sunny weather, especially on the south end of Lanier. We made the trip from Lathem Bay in Gainesville down to Aqualand and Dockside Grill in Flowery Branch. Of course, no trip to Dockside Grill would be complete without one of their Lake Famous Docker Burgers. I tried a new version, The California, a huge Docker Burger with Guacamole, tomatoes and all of the fixins including fries! Everything was delicious as usual. And the best part of Dockside Grill is the dog friendly atmosphere. Bring your pooch! We love seeing the lakers and their pets! There's fun for all at Aqualand!

Autumn Boating & Dining At Aqualand Marina On Lake Lanier!

When time permits on the weekends, my wife and I will often head out for a little lunch at one of the great lakeside restaurants on Lake Lanier. Today was no different! It was a welcome retreat and quite a change in the weather as Autumn has finally arrived. I don't think the temperature got out of the low sixties today. It was windy, chilly and somewhat cloudy. But that was okay, as there were few power boats out today. However there were plenty of sailboats enjoying the stiff, cold wind!

We headed for one of Lanier's prime lakeside grills. Dockside Grill at Aqualand Marina. The scenery is always spectacular at Aqualand and the food is pretty doggone good as well. What an enjoyable, chilly, white cap, blustery, Autumn, October afternoon! Man it was nice! Hot burgers, a cold beer and a fantastic view! We'll be back soon!
