Lake Lanier Neighbors

Lately, I've been making a lot of drives up to the northern end of Lake Lanier in the mornings. The lists of errands include installing flyer boxes, stuffing flyers in flyer boxes, taking photos of listings, showing property, etc. I am frequently amazed by the amount of wildlife that I encounter on these journeys. A few weeks ago, I was in a rural part of Gainesville on Lake Lanier showing a large home on a fairly large tract of wooded land. It was rainy and foggy, and as I approached the front door, I heard a rustling in the leaves in the nearby woods. As I turned around, there he was! A beautiful Red Fox, bushy tail and all. He kept his eyes on me as he trotted along the side of the driveway and headed thru the USACE property down to the lake. Finally, he stopped as he looked back, just to make sure that I was not following, and then he silently crept out of sight and into the thick of the woods. So, in all of my days here in the Lake Lanier area, I have been lucky enough to see a handful of these beautiful, cautious little animals. They are still here as we intrude into their lives and homes. May we always be mindful of their presence!
