The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has made significant changes to the entryway of the park. There is an abundance of parking area, plenty of walking trails to explore the shoreline of Lake Lanier, and a convenient boat ramp to launch your boat! All of these amenities are fantastic, especially when you consider that the park is located so far south on the lake. It really makes it very convenient for visitors from Atlanta or from the northern suburbs of Atlanta to get up to Lake Lanier and enjoy a little bit of recreation. Additionally, if waterfront living on Lake Lanier is a bit too pricey for your tastes, nearby property owners can use this park as a quick easy method for bringing the boat up to the lake, launching and parking while you head out onto the water for the day.
