A few photos from our last weekend boat ride on Lake Lanier.  A simple, relaxing cruise out Lathem Bay to the Chestatee River and over to War Hill in Dawsonville!  Easy times on a Sunday afternoon!

Wow!  We had another tremendous day of Lake Lanier home showings on Saturday.  We departed from Cumming early Saturday morning and headed up to the Prudential Georgia Realty Office in Gainesville to pick up our client at 9:30.  From there, we started our home visits.  Here is a list of the Lake Lanier area homes that we viewed:

We enjoyed a tremendous lunch at Skogie's at Gainesville Marina.  Blackened Grouper soft tacos with a few hush puppies on the side!  But even that couldn't keep us from hitting Rico's World Kitchen in Buford for dinner.  Another fantastic dinner in old town Buford.  Fantastic Fried Green Tomato Salad and a few Crab Cakes!  Rico's rocks!

Lake Lanier Real Estate Today! The Early Read On July Lake Lanier Home Sales!

Today in Lake Lanier real estate, we are taking a preliminary look at Lake Lanier home sales for the month of July.  The early reporting as of this morning shows 20 home sales for the month, with average sales prices in the mid $500,000 range.  These are some pretty good numbers, and a strong indicator that sales are continuing to trend in a positive direction here on Lanier.  We'll wait til the middle of this month to make a final call on July's numbers, as it may take a few more days for all of the sales to be reported.  Nevertheless, these early numbers look encouraging.

We continue to actively seek new property listings both on Lake Lanier and in the surrounding areas.  Recently, we have received a number of requests to list homes, and we are now processing these requests.  In today's market, home sellers and real estate agents are tasked with completing a mountain of real estate forms with detailed property information and historical details.  This sheer volume of paperwork is forcing us to stage the process of listing in the following steps:

2. MLS Data Forms Completed & Signed
3. Seller's Property Disclosure Statement Completed & Signed
4. Request For Keys & Assignment Of Lockbox

In Lake Lanier real estate today, we thought that we would follow up on yesterday's focus of searching for Lake Lanier area homes for sale near Lake Lanier marinas.  Yesterday, we took a look at Holiday Marina in Buford.  Today, we decided to look at the other side of the lake, and see homes for sale in Cumming near Bald Ridge Marina.  This custom search is now available on our website, and basically uses the mapping search criteria for homes, condos, and townhomes that are presently for sale in Cumming and close to Bald Ridge Marina.  Without making the search too overwhelming, we zoomed in to locate approximately seventy homes that are currently for sale in any price range.  The idea of the search is to locate homes that may not be lakefront, but still have very close proximity to a boat launch, slips, gas, and marina services.  Bald Ridge Marina is a gorgeous facility complete with all of the aforementioned benefits as well as a MarineMax boat sales and service dealer.  Check out the links below for the home search and all of the amenities and details available at Bald Ridge Marina.

Yesterday, we discussed our positive feedback regarding Onsite Shine Marine on Lake Lanier. Their shop is located at Holiday Marina in Buford. Well, the post got us thinking about homes that might be for sale in Buford near Lake Lanier and Holiday Marina. As we have discussed many times in this blog, there are many buyers that would like to live near Lake Lanier, but they don't have to be lakefront. As long as they can keep their boat at a nearby marina, that is a short commute from their home, they're happy. Lake Lanier Boat Detailer Onsite Shine Marine Serves Lake Lanier Well!

I finally resolved one of my nagging problems today.  It was just something that I had been putting off for a long time, but I finally decided to take the time and get the issue resolved.  My old 1991 Sea Ray boat was in desperate need of a full detail.  It was to the point that when I used my boat to show homes or visit lake customers, it looked like I was driving my project rehab boat.  So, after doing a bit of research, and speaking with persons in the know on these things, I contacted Mac Stewart at Onsite Shine.  Onsite Shine has been in business for years, but I had always associated them with auto detailing.  But they actually do boats as well!  That's where Mac entered the picture.

I contacted Mac and explained to him the state of my poor old Sea Ray.  Without seeing my boat, Mac explained that I would probably need the works.  This would involve a full day of detailing at his shop at Holiday Marina on Lake Lanier.  Well, this would mean that I would need to drive my boat from Gainesville to Buford on Lake Lanier, and have it at Mac's shop by 9:00.  I thought that sounded great!  Nothing like an early morning cruise on Lanier's calm waters.  But as the day arrived, I got busy, and eventually started stressing about the time it was going to take out of my day to take the boat to Buford, find a ride to my office in Cumming, go back to Buford in the afternoon to get the boat and finally drive the boat back to Gainesville.  Mac stepped in, met me at my home in Gainesville at 8:30 sharp, prepped the Sea Ray, and took it to Holiday Marina to perform his magic.  Here's an early morning pic of the Sea Ray prior to detail.

Later today, around 4 PM, Mac called me to let me know he was headed back to Gainesville.  He arrived 45 minutes later in my shiny, clean, new 1991 Sea Ray and it has never looked better!  The price?  One hundred dollars less than his estimate!  That's right!  After seeing the boat and getting to work, the interior was better than expected and didn't need the full overhaul as expected.  That was a pleasant surprise!  So this post is a shout out to Mac Stewart and Onsite Shine Marine!  Excellent customer service!  Timely attendance!  Job well done and we'll be back!
