U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers Pitching First Marina On Lake Lanier In 30-Plus Years!

Wow! Could this news really be true? This news article just came across my desk courtesy of Jeff Gill with the Gainesville Times. If this news were to become true it could be huge for the northwestern side of Lake Lanier along the Chestatee River. I have a home in this area and personally would love to see a marina and a gas stop along this stretch of the lake. For years, residents in this area have looked only to Athens Boat Club as the only gas stop around. Athens Boat Club was not mentioned in this article, but has always done a fine job in their own right for providing gasoline to boaters on this area of Lanier.  A new marina at Bolding Mill Campground, however, would be so convenient and could really be special if it had a dining area for visitors. Now this is just my opinion, and I know that many others residents of the area may not share it. Here is the link to the article by Jeff Gill. What are your thoughts?
