Lake Lanier Real Estate Today! The Early Read On July Lake Lanier Home Sales!

Today in Lake Lanier real estate, we are taking a preliminary look at Lake Lanier home sales for the month of July.  The early reporting as of this morning shows 20 home sales for the month, with average sales prices in the mid $500,000 range.  These are some pretty good numbers, and a strong indicator that sales are continuing to trend in a positive direction here on Lanier.  We'll wait til the middle of this month to make a final call on July's numbers, as it may take a few more days for all of the sales to be reported.  Nevertheless, these early numbers look encouraging.

We continue to actively seek new property listings both on Lake Lanier and in the surrounding areas.  Recently, we have received a number of requests to list homes, and we are now processing these requests.  In today's market, home sellers and real estate agents are tasked with completing a mountain of real estate forms with detailed property information and historical details.  This sheer volume of paperwork is forcing us to stage the process of listing in the following steps:

Lake Lanier Boat Detailer Onsite Shine Marine Serves Lake Lanier Well!

I finally resolved one of my nagging problems today.  It was just something that I had been putting off for a long time, but I finally decided to take the time and get the issue resolved.  My old 1991 Sea Ray boat was in desperate need of a full detail.  It was to the point that when I used my boat to show homes or visit lake customers, it looked like I was driving my project rehab boat.  So, after doing a bit of research, and speaking with persons in the know on these things, I contacted Mac Stewart at Onsite Shine.  Onsite Shine has been in business for years, but I had always associated them with auto detailing.  But they actually do boats as well!  That's where Mac entered the picture.

I contacted Mac and explained to him the state of my poor old Sea Ray.  Without seeing my boat, Mac explained that I would probably need the works.  This would involve a full day of detailing at his shop at Holiday Marina on Lake Lanier.  Well, this would mean that I would need to drive my boat from Gainesville to Buford on Lake Lanier, and have it at Mac's shop by 9:00.  I thought that sounded great!  Nothing like an early morning cruise on Lanier's calm waters.  But as the day arrived, I got busy, and eventually started stressing about the time it was going to take out of my day to take the boat to Buford, find a ride to my office in Cumming, go back to Buford in the afternoon to get the boat and finally drive the boat back to Gainesville.  Mac stepped in, met me at my home in Gainesville at 8:30 sharp, prepped the Sea Ray, and took it to Holiday Marina to perform his magic.  Here's an early morning pic of the Sea Ray prior to detail.

Later today, around 4 PM, Mac called me to let me know he was headed back to Gainesville.  He arrived 45 minutes later in my shiny, clean, new 1991 Sea Ray and it has never looked better!  The price?  One hundred dollars less than his estimate!  That's right!  After seeing the boat and getting to work, the interior was better than expected and didn't need the full overhaul as expected.  That was a pleasant surprise!  So this post is a shout out to Mac Stewart and Onsite Shine Marine!  Excellent customer service!  Timely attendance!  Job well done and we'll be back!

Lake Lanier Real Estate Today! Looking At 100 Ruby Lane In Dawsonville, GA.

As you probably know by now, I make it my business to watch and understand the real estate market here on Lake Lanier.  Part of that process includes staying up to date on the latest listings to hit the market on the lake.  This weekend, I was excited to see a really nice property in Dawsonville listed by my colleague Janie Simmons at Prudential Georgia Realty.  The property is located at 100 Ruby Lane, and is notable because of its excellent lot and view.  This home is a three bedroom, two bath house built in 1977 on a lot that is quite level and features a very nice grass to water backyard.  Few lots on Lanier will have the fantastic views and easy approach to the lake that these homes on Ruby Lane are known for.  The other big plus about this location is the neighborhood features homes that are estimated at values more than twice that of 100 Ruby Lane.  To have the opportunity to acquire such a gem of a property at the listed $379,000 is a rare chance that you should strongly consider if you desire a premium lot with a quaint lake home in a fantastic location.  Take a look at the following link for more details and photos on this really special Lake Lanier home and please let us know if we can share in the joy of showing you what a great lakefront environment is all about!

Lake Lanier Area Dining In Buford At Rico's World Kitchen!

The rains didn't stop us from enjoying a fantastic evening last night in Historic Downtown Buford near Lake Lanier.  We ventured across Buford Dam into Gwinnett County and headed to Rico's World Kitchen for dinner!  Well, the rave reviews were true, as Rico's World Kitchen did not disappoint.  While Historic Downtown Buford did not seem overly crowded, Rico's was packed.  Many of the diners were enjoying meals on the outdoor patio, until the rains came and everyone had to move inside.  This restaurant is really unique!  Think hot new dining spot in a restored old-time gas station or corner store!  If you've ever dined at Pure Taqueria in Alpharetta, the concept is the same.

The menu at Rico's is diverse and the beer and wine selection is as well.  Both are top notch!  We enjoyed samplings of steak, shrimp, crab cakes, and fried green tomato salad.  Of course, I can't forget the coconut cake for dessert!  In keeping with the theme, the beers and wine are "worldly" as well.  Really nice offerings from Europe, Asia, South America and of course the U.S.  Rico's is high-end food in an eclectic, casual atmosphere at a very reasonable price.  They post their dinner specials on their Facebook Page.  A great idea that is clearly approved of by their Facebook followers!  I mention this because their website menu appears to show mainly lunch fare.  We'll be returning to Rico's soon, and we'll get photos before the rains come.  But for now, be sure to visit Rico's World Kitchen in Historic Downtown Buford for an excellent evening dinner!
